WHERE AMAZING HAPPENS April 29 2010
Studio time with Jon (Rhythm Natives) and Glenn (engineer for U-N-I, Pac Div, et al). I’m really loving the opportunity CA has given me to be in the company of talent. It’s inspiring. And more importantly, I’m learning a lot.

ON THE BANDWAGON April 28 2010
So I started a Tumblr. It’s reserved for anything and everything I won’t normally post here. I’m still learning it, though, but I thought I’d spread the word to follow me. Do it.
IT TAKES A VILLAGE April 27 2010
Our boys Paul and Tim of Sunday Print Co shared a project that they just finished working on. They printed tees for a grassroots campaign to build a skatepark in Palos Verdes and to financially assist the Channel Street Skatepark Association.

The Palos Verdes Peninsula is currently without a park, even though the South Bay has a vibrant skate community. There have been efforts since mid-2009 to get this on the city’s budget (you can read some background on this here). But the community will not sit and wait. Those involved have rallied to raise money to first complete a feasibility study on the land they intend to build on. From there, engineering, design, and more fund raising will begin.
The Channel Street Skatepark has a much different story. In 2002, local skateboarders came together to build their own skatepark under the 110 freeway at Channel Street in the town of San Pedro. Since then, the D.I.Y. park has evolved in size, but it is not fully completed. It exists because of the generosity of volunteers and donors who believe in this project.

You should know by now that we advocate skating. Our People in Manila Don’t Skate tee is an awareness tee about the social conditions of the youth in the Philippines. Though Chicharon Adventures isn’t quite there with building a skate park just yet, we can all help the local projects. Purchase a “If not you, who?” t-shirt. All proceeds from these shirts will go to the Channel Street Skatepark Association, and efforts for a new park in Palos Verdes. Buy them HERE.

THE SEND OFF April 26 2010
The entire crew had a farewell, family style, Filipino dinner for Alex - our friend, one of our photographers, and our favorite nomad. He’ll be leaving Los Angeles for Hawaii for several weeks. Then he’ll come back, only to leave again to an unknown destination.
