8 HOUR DAY October 24 2011
I ended up in Vancouver yesterday. My commitment in Seattle was scheduled for the evening so I thought to make the trek north. Why not.

I asked some friends from here what they recommended to do for a short amount of time. They had suggested a walk/drive through Stanley Park. The weather was beautiful enough to do so.

They also suggested a visit to Capilano for the suspension bridge and Cliffwalk. Both attractions are about 300 feet above water and overlook amazing views of Capilano Forest. If you know me, you’d know that I am terrified of heights. Sometimes I can’t even walk on the second floor of a mall. But when was I ever going to be able to do this again? So I faced my fear, and I’m quite impressed with myself.

I ended the trip with a late lunch and had one of my favorite dishes - poutine. I spent a few months in Toronto and Montreal some years ago and my fondest memories involve poutine. Fries, gravy, cheese curds, and if you’re lucky, bacon. SO. GOOD.

Then I crossed the border back into the US of A, and was greeted by this.
